INTRODUTION TO EDUCATION is a book designed to assist students in developing English skills in the field of education, while enhancing their professional understanding of the subject of their studies. Students are given the opportunity to familiarize themselves with academic texts which will improve their abilities to handle the bibliography related to their domain.

The book consists of 25 units. Each unit begins with a passage pertaining to education, followed by a reading comprehension section and discussion questions. There is a use of language section with a variety of exercises built and focused on the special terminology each text includes. The grammar section includes theory and exercises aiming at the improvement of the students’ use of the English language, while the listening section relates to the topic of each unit. The writing section consists of projects that focus on helping the students master specialized vocabulary and hone their writing skills. Moreover, the book contains extra grammar exercises, a glossary of educational terms as well as a dictionary of synonyms and antonyms.

Psarouthakis Stamatia

Stamatia Psarouthakis holds a B.A, and a M.A in English Language and Literature from the University of Michigan, U.S.A. At present, she is completing her Ph.D in Linguistics. She has an extensive experience in teaching English since 1991 at all levels of Education. This includes: Fifth and fourteenth Elementary schools of Chania, Second High school of Chania, Technical university of Kozani, Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania, Maritime Academy of Chania. At the University of Crete she has been working as an English instructor for 25 years.
